The fourth and final class of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Explorers program got underway on Wednesday at Morehead State University. Delaney Stephens, Community Liaison and Youth Programs Coordinator for The Center, welcomed 30 rising high school freshmen from 20 counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky.

As part of the three day, two night program, Explorers had the opportunity to take part in a community service project at the Morehead State University Farm. Explorers spent Wednesday evening picking fresh blackberries so they could be processed and marketed to the local community. In total, Explorers picked approximately 20 gallons of blackberries.

Explorers will remain on MSU’s campus until Friday.
