Dress in your favorite glow outfit or wear your Halloween costume to the third annual Rogers Scholars 5K Glow Run/Walk.Youth1

The family-friendly event will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, from 7-9 p.m. at The Center for Rural Development.

Walkers and runners are encouraged to wear bright colors and glow accessories. Glow sticks, neon bracelets, necklaces, neon tights, and glow costumes are all welcome, as well as glow paint.

Since the event will be held one day before the official start of Halloween, participants may wear their favorite Halloween costume.

The costume contest is one of the “fun” pre-event activities. Runners and walkers are not required to participate, but you must be a registered participant of the Rogers Scholars 5K Glow Run/Walk to enter the contest.

Winners will receive some “cool” prizes, including a $50 gift card to the newly opened Somerset Mellow Mushroom restaurant and 2016 Master Musicians Festival passes.

Proceeds raised from the event will go to support The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars youth leadership program and the region’s youth.
