Day one of our third Rogers Explorers camp of the summer!

Ninth grade students are spending three days on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

When the students arrived on campus this afternoon, they were given a campus tour by students of the University of the Cumberlands. They also spent some time getting to know their fellow Rogers Explorers in some fun getting-to-know-you games.

After dinner, our students discussed what community service means to them. They discussed what community service looks like in their home county. In groups of other Rogers Explorers of counties near their own, students developed a community service action plan to create ideas of what they could do to help change the future of their community.

Our Rogers Explorers ended their busy day with some fun snacks and games at the Boswell Campus Center at the University of the Cumberlands.

We can’t wait for day two!
