Day one of our first Rogers Scholars camp of the summer!

Rising eleventh-grade students are spending five days on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky.

Scholars and parents were welcomed to Lindsey Wilson College by The Center for Rural Development Staff and administrators of Lindsey Wilson College. Lonnie Lawson, President and CEO of The Center for Rural Development, greeted parents and spoke to them on Congressman Hal Rogers’ mission for his youth programs: no young person should have to leave home to find his/her future.

When the students arrived on campus this afternoon, they participated in getting-to-know-you activities and games facilitated by the Asbury University Adventure Leadership Program. They had fun getting to know their fellow Rogers Scholars.

After dinner, our scholars ended their day with some relaxation time and games with new friends!

Day one – that’s a wrap! We can’t wait for tomorrow!
