2019 Rogers Scholar and Cumberland County High School student Paris Newell partnered with Burkesville Academy of Fine Arts to perform for residents at Cumberland Valley Manor Nursing Home for her community service project.
Newell and the students performed songs and entertained the residents with storytelling in a holiday show.
“I have always had a special place in my heart for elderly people,” she said. “Bringing joy to residents when most of them don’t have visitors is one of my favorite things. Being able to do so with music (another passion of mine) made it 10 times greater.”
Paris is the daughter of Jenny Newell of Burkesville.
