2020 Rogers Scholar and Harlan County High School student Breydy Daniels stands in front of a large Plexiglass visiting booth that he and his father, Ron, built for Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The Rogers Scholars community service project, “Overcoming Isolation During COVID-19,” was inspired by the need to reconnect residents with friends and family members separated because of the pandemic. “I was happy to be a part of something that reunites many families.”

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
