2020 Rogers Scholar and Casey County High School student Mollie Harne drops off new and gently used clothing items donated by family and friends at the West Casey Family Resource Center.

The clothing drive was part of her “Back to School Sustainability” community service project and ongoing campaign to encourage adolescent girls to learn the art of thrifting.

“I wish I had learned sooner in my life that to dress fashionably, to express my personal style, and to have confidence doesn’t always require clothes with new tags.”

The donated articles of clothing will be made available to girls in the sixth grade at Walnut Hill Elementary School.

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
