2020 Rogers Scholar and Pulaski County High School student Evan Mullins organized a virtual collection drive for sensory tools for Be the Village, a ministry dedicated to serving foster and adoptive children and their families in Pulaski County.

Evan collaborated with director Stephanie Roberts to set up “a wish list” of needed items on Amazon and directed potential donors to purchase and ship items directly to the non-profit organization.

“Due to the pandemic, I needed a way to serve my community safely. By creating a contactless way to collect items, I could safely meet the needs of Be the Village.”

Evan collected a total of $450 worth of sensory items that will go directly to the children receiving care at the facility.

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
