2020 Rogers Scholar Ryan Hastings organized a community drive to collect new and gently used baseball and softball equipment for kids who cannot afford to play sports.

Ryan, who plays baseball for Clay County High School, said, “I know some kids don’t participate in sports because of the cost. Hopefully, my project will ease the financial burden for some families.”

The equipment collected in his “Be a Game Changer” community service project was donated to little leagues.

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
