2021 Rogers Scholar and Wayne County High School student Wesley “Wes” Cares prepares to donate winter clothing items collected in a community drive to the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers.

He coordinated the effort through the JAG (Jobs for American Graduates) Club and Wayne County schools. Any surplus clothing was donated to the Hope Center.

“This project was an opportunity to grow. Getting to do a large community project was a new experience and getting to make a difference was such a great experience.”

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
