2021 Rogers Scholar Hannah Whitt, a student at Morgan County High School, delivered handmade Christmas cards to residents at West Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for her community service project.

Hannah also donated jigsaw puzzles, coloring books and coloring pencils, activity books, and word search books for residents to enjoy during the winter months.

“This project was extremely important to me, because I have visited the nursing home in my local community during Christmastime for as long as I can remember. I know how hard this time of year can be on residents, especially if they cannot spend it with their loved ones. It makes me happy knowing that my donation could have brought them some joy during this time.”

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
