2021 Rogers Scholar Katelyn Abshire, a student at Pike County Central High School, is helping local and area students learn a new sport.

Katelyn decided to share her love for volleyball and provide lessons at no cost to students.

“This project meant a lot to me. I was able to teach kids about the sport that I truly love to play and get them excited. I am happy to say that I was able to help quite a few kids find a new passion for the sport.”

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
