2021 Rogers Scholar and Taylor County High School student Charles Cox organized “You Can Make a Difference” canned food drive to benefit Green River Ministries for his community service project.

Charles encouraged donors to support the project through one of these four ways: make a financial contribution, donate 10 or more non-perishable canned food items, set up an on-site collection box, or spread the word about the food drive.

“This gives me an opportunity to remember the less fortunate. I forgot that while I am having fun in the summer, many families with children struggle to feed themselves since school is out.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
