2021 Rogers Scholar Scarlett “Grace” Bruner, a student at Somerset High School, donated clothing items to sexual assault victims seen at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for her community service project.

In most cases, victims of sexual assault must leave their clothing at the hospital before turning over to police.

“I am glad I was able to help people who may be no one realized had a need. I hope being able to wear clean new matching clothes home in some way makes them feel better.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
