2021 Rogers Scholar Parker Lonesky of Pulaski County loves books and wanted to share the joy of reading with others. He collected and donated approximately 600 books to Somerset Christian School.

“Honestly books mean more to me than they really should. They first encouraged my love of learning, which is a trait I consider invaluable, and they gave me the escapist fantasy I often find myself desiring. This project was designed to help encourage this love in other people, from preschoolers reading staple bound books to the high school students reading three volume novels.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
