2021 Rogers Scholar and North Laurel High School student Peyton Smoot organized a donation drive for victims of domestic violence for his community service project.

With help from the Faith Assembly Church, Peyton donated household items to approximately 10 families to take with them when they leave the shelter.

“This project, to me, means that more people can be helped to get a fresh start in the community.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
