2021 Rogers Scholar and Magoffin County High School student Rylie Castle loves animals and volunteers at the local animal shelter.

For her community service project, Rylie encouraged the community to donate food, toys, beds, and pet accessories to the shelter.

“I am very passionate about animals. I always try my best to volunteer at the animal shelter and thought it would be a great idea to get people involved. After my project, I feel like more people started volunteering and making donations, which made me very happy.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
