2022 Rogers Scholar and Pulaski County High School student Seth Kissinger raised money and needed supplies for families impacted by the historic record flood in Eastern Kentucky.

Seth partnered with First Christian Church, Boy Scout Troop 79, and Floyd County FRYSC Office to support his “Pray for Eastern Kentucky” project. The church donated a van and trailer to transport supplies to flood-stricken communities.

“This project means a lot to me, in many ways. I take great pride in my state and seeing all these people affected by this flood and losing everything broke my heart. Being able to make a big impact in the recovery of the flooding means the world to me.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project.
