2022 Rogers Scholar Aneesh Sharma, far left, a student at Pikeville Independent, and a team of volunteers helped coordinate a medical, dental, and vision camp at East Ridge High School.
Aneesh formed a student club, a subchapter of Rotary Club District 6740, to assist with the project. Club members helped direct traffic and screen and register patients at the clinic.
“I was truly humbled to see people who had lined up early in the morning to be able to receive basic care that we take for granted. I am glad I was able to be a part of this event.”
Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project.
