2022 Rogers Scholar and Magoffin County High School student Bella Dunn organized a community fund-raising event to support Special Olympics for her community service project.

She donated proceeds raised through the sale of hot dogs and ice cream sundaes to help cover the expenses for 10 athletes competing in a state competition.

“The Special Olympics is one of the most inclusive, inspirational organizations that I am aware of, and knowing that I have supported them brings me joy. Special Olympics establishes an environment for those with a disability to thrive and grow.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
