2022 Rogers Scholar Isabella Hammons combined two of her favorite things – tennis and helping others – to create one amazing community service project.
Isabella, a student at McCreary Central High School, collected and donated tennis balls for rehab patients to use on the legs of their walkers to help them glide easier on floors.
“This project was important to me because I had the ability to use what I love to help others. Being a tennis player and a future health professional are two of my highest priorities, and this project integrated both of them.”
Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
