2022 Rogers Scholar Kaylee Todd is giving residents at Liberty Care Center a reason to go outside and do a little bird watching with her “Helping Enjoy Nature” community service project.
Kaylee, a student at Casey County High School, donated two bird feeders and two bags of bird seed as well as word search books to keep the residents busy indoors when they are not watching the birds.
“Helping others brings a smile to my face. I know it makes their day when they get to go outside and watch the birds and when they are inside, they have a new activity to do with the word search books.”
Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
