2022 Rogers Scholar and Adair County High School student Ellie Cheatham loves animals. That’s why Ellie decided to organize a community fundraiser for the Green River Animal Shelter.

“This project meant the world to me because I have always loved animals. Knowing I was able to help the shelter when they needed it most, gave me so much joy. It’s not often they get large donations, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of this project.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
