Delaney Stephens, community liaison and youth programs coordinator, welcomed 32 rising high school juniors from Southern and Eastern Kentucky and their parents to the Rogers Scholars program in a short opening ceremony in the L.R. McDonald Administration Building.
The program, an intensive one-week session, provides leadership and scholarship opportunities for some of the “best and brightest” high school students within The Center’s 45-county primary service area.
Lindsey Wilson College, located in Adair County, one of The Center’s service areas, has agreed to serve as the 2013 Rogers Scholars host site. Scholars will remain on the campus through Thursday and return to The Center on Friday for an awards and graduation program that night in the theatre.
