2019 Rogers Scholar Emily Conn, of Prestonsburg, prepared a meal for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House earlier this year. Conn selected the “Ronald McDonald House Meal” for her Rogers Scholars community service project because her parents stayed there when she was a baby, born premature, and hospitalized at UK.

“I wanted to pay back the Ronald McDonald House by providing current families with meals while their children are at the UK hospital. It gave me joy to give back to an organization that gave to me,” Conn said.

Conn is a student at Knott County Central High School. Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
