2020 Rogers Scholar and Breathitt County High School senior Jackson Gay, far right, organized a community meeting with local teens to discuss substance abuse issues for his community service project.

“The project is primarily focused on educating our youth on how to cope with the problems present by friends, family members, and colleagues who have substance abuse issues. Our hope is that through counseling and fellowship the group provides, then our youth can educate those who are facing active addiction on treatment options and be a positive influence on our community.”

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
