2021 Rogers Scholar and Owsley County High School student Christian Bowling hosted a women’s volleyball tournament for his community service project.

Money raised through the Booneville Volleyball Bash was put back into the community to make improvements to the park.

“Being able to involve my small community in a service that was not only successful, but eye-opening greatly impacted me. I will most definitely host another event, after all the positive outcomes I’ve seen.”

Each graduate of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program is required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
