2021 Rogers Scholar and Martin County High School student Dennison Davis joined community volunteers in picking up roadside litter and debris for his community service project.

Dennison organized the Martin County Clean Up over a three-mile stretch of roadway and together with volunteers picked up 55 bags of trash.

“Personally, this project meant a lot to me. You don’t realize how much damage has been done until you are involved in what’s happening. Being able to pick up trash in my county is more than just a community service project to me, it is making our county look good, keeping us safer, and it brings us together as a community.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
