2022 Rogers Scholar and Elliott County High School student Gracie Harper constructed a 4×4 wooden, hand-painted welcome sign for the city of Sandy Hook for her community service project.

“This opportunity has allowed me to expand my craftsmanship skills and also express my artistic abilities. I was given the chance to work on something that I truly enjoyed, and the end result will be enjoyed by all travelers and residents for years to come.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
