Every article of clothing donated is clothes another person didn’t have.

That was 2022 Rogers Scholar Lexie Lewis’ philosophy when it came to asking family and friends to donate to her “Dress for Success” community service project.

Lexie, a student at Garrard County High School, donated more than 10 bags of clothes and 100 pairs of shoes to Buena Vista Baptist Church’s Center for Hope & Help.

“This project means a lot to me, because I know what the Center for Hope & Help means to everyone. We have a lot of people who are struggling, and to know that I can help, even in a small way, means a lot to me.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
