2022 Rogers Scholar and Menifee County High School student Cassandra Gerrish built a Blessing Box to provide another source of food for those in need.

The Blessing Box, located outside the doors of the county’s food pantry, is accessible 24/7 and available to everyone. Dayspring Church and community supporters have graciously agreed to help keep the Blessing Box stocked with food and supplies.

“This project meant a lot to me because I know there are many people in my community who need a little extra help with food and other basic necessities. With the Blessing Box, they can privately stop and take what they need or leave things that they don’t, to either help themselves or others in need.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
