2022 Rogers Scholar and East Carter High School student Emersyn Elliott is helping teens in her community.

She organized a clothing drive and donated personal care items to teenage girls through the Fostering Possibilities Initiative.

“This project allowed me to get involved in my community and help teen girls in foster care feel more comfortable. I learned that the smallest items and basic clothing can make a huge difference in someone’s life.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
