2022 Rogers Scholar and Barbourville Independent student Regan Messer knows the importance of good oral hygiene – especially in school-aged children.

Regan delivered 50 oral health care kits, donated by a local dentist, to Barbourville Independent kindergarten students for her community service project.

“This project is very dear to me because I completed an internship at a local dental office last year. I understand the importance of early oral health care. I thought it was not only important to supply these kits but also to educate the children.”

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
